Dangerous typographic choices in the workplace… The way stuff is perceived over email is quite interesting, I think a lot of the time tone is misconstrued. Even what sign off to use can be tricky.
Regards – too appropriate?
Warm regards – too predictable?
Kind regards - too predictable?
Best – too much of a brush off?
Cheers – too alcoholic/British?
Yours – too forward?
Fondly – too sexual?
Love and kisses – too cute?
I remain yours truly – too heavy?
Thanks – too repetitive?
I’d like to work out something more personal and original.
Hospital Food.
There is a new blog dedicated to the subject. Eww.
I like how the interwebs and the various social network avenues have brought this amazing creation to the worlds attention – The Bacon Explosion.
I’m tempted to try one out, it looks quite nice sliced and put on a roll. It is acceptable to wrap a chicken breast in procuitto – so why not take the next logical step bacon wrapping red meat. It’s not really that far from meatloaf with bacon in it or the classic fillet mignon.
Another idea that has sprung to mind would be to update the humble sausage roll with a layer of bacon in between the sausage and pastry part – that is one experiment I will try next party.
I have recently found a few new sources of joy and thought I’d share:
Overheard in New York: Hilarious conversations recorded.
Haw-Lin: Fashion oriented photoblog.
The Selby: Artistic people and their abodes.
‘What a FAIL‘ has recently changed the idea behind the posts, becoming ‘Fuck my Life’ instead of ‘FAIL’.
When it was just FAIL, it was funny, upbeat and amusing, but now it’s ‘Fuck My Life’ is just a bit to serious, severe without a funny side, and I don’t enjoy it near as much as before.
Is it wrong that this site makes me feel happy?
Only on the interwebs. Search Engine Rap battle. Google, Yahoo and MSN battle it out with 8 bars of freestyle each – in full costume. Votes close soon people.
The rhymes are actually pretty bang on and funny. Would have been a pretty fun event to go to.
I don’t think so – perhaps just more unfocussed. I am a bit late on this one – but this is a very interesting article about how the internet may effect cognition.
